CodeMeter 8.40a User Help

The following system requirements apply for using extended license access permissions (ACL, Access Control List):

•Windows 10 operating system (recommended)

Under macOS MacOS and Linux LINUX, Windows win8_logo -specific configuration elements, e.g. Active Directory and groups, are not available.

However, the operation of Linux/macOS clients on CodeMeter License Servers under Windows is possible, if the clients are located in a Windows domain.

Operation from Windows clients to CodeMeter License Servers under Linux/macOS is currently not possible.

 

Under Linux and macOS the import / export of extended license access permissions works like under Windows.

However, the JSON documents may only contain elements that the respective CodeMeter License Server can process. In case of an error, the entire export is denied and an error message is issued.

To support Linux LINUX in Windows ACL environments with subdomains and multidomains, the following software must be installed on the Linux machines:

•SSSD (System Security Services Daemon) for central management and authentication of user identities

•Samba for the integration of Linux systems into Windows networks.

•CodeMeter installation (at least version 7.20)

•Active Directory (when using group and user rules)
